Shelly's new portfolio of devices, the Generation 3 line, include devices such as the Mini 1PM Gen3 or the H&T Gen3 which feature a number of advancements on their older generation counterparts. 

 

Increased Memory

The Shelly Gen3 collection utilises a custom chip developed by Shelly, offering 8MB of RAM as opposed to the 4MB included in previous models. This increase in RAM significantly improves device performance and efficiency, offering smoother operation and faster response times.  

 

Matter Upgradeable

Due to this increase in available RAM, all Gen3 Shelly products are ready to be upgraded to Matter, a new IP-based smart home protocol that ensures seamless inter-operability and simplified development between smart devices from different manufacturers. 

 

Virtual Components

The Gen3 series also introduces 'virtual components' - a way to create virtual devices, integrating custom scripts and routines and even non-Shelly components into a unified control system. These will appear as devices on your Shelly dashboard, offering even more options for customisation.
