The Lithe Audio 01590 is a triple-layer acoustic and fire speaker hood, engineered in a hemi-anechoic chamber to offer significantly enhanced fire safety and reduced sound leakage. The 01590 speaker hood is compatible with both 6.5" and 8" ceiling speakers, and substantially reduces both fire spread through ceiling voids and sound leakage to upper floors, as well as offering an easy and intuitive installation process.
Description
Capable of increasing fire resistance, decreasing noise leakage and improving sound quality, the 01590 speaker hood includes triple-layer acoustic construction while maintaining ceiling integrity. The hood is engineered to preserve fire resistance for up to 90 minutes and is fully compliant with all UK and EU building and IEE regulations, as well as Parts B, L, C and E regulations, positioning it as an ideal choice for domestic installations as well as hotels, retail outlets, or any other deployment which requires fire safety compliance.
In addition to fire safety the 01590 hood is also ideal for sound-sensitive areas, reducing noise transmission by up to -9dB across all sound ranges, and tested in a hemi-anechoic chamber meeting the requirements of ISO | 1202:2010.
The hood itself offers a 'One Size Fits All' solution for fire and sound dampening for any Lithe Audio 6.5" or 8" ceiling speaker, and features a lightweight, flexible design and maintenance-free installation that's compatible with both suspended and plasterboard ceilings.
